What this tool does

One markdown file that tells AI what your site actually does.

AI assistants don't crawl the way search engines do — they read context. An llms.txt file hands ChatGPT, Perplexity and other AI systems a curated summary of your site: who you are, what you sell and which pages matter most. This generator assembles that file for you in the correct markdown structure, live in your browser.

Correct structure, every time

Headline, summary blockquote, about section and markdown link lists — formatted exactly to the llms.txt convention, no hand-editing.

Curated for AI citation

You choose which pages AI should see first — pricing, docs, case studies — instead of leaving it to a crawler to guess what matters.

Private by design

Everything runs in your browser. No account, no API, no data leaves your device — copy or download the file and you're done.

How it works

Four steps, two minutes.

01

Describe your site

Name, URL and one line on what you do. These become the headline and summary of the file.

02

Add context

A short about section helps AI understand who you serve and what makes you different.

03

Curate key pages

List the pages you want AI to know about — pricing, product, docs, case studies — with one-line descriptions.

04

Copy or download

Save the file as llms.txt and upload it to your domain root so it's reachable at yoursite.com/llms.txt.

FAQs

LLM.txt questions, answered.

What is an llms.txt file?

llms.txt is a proposed convention — a single markdown file placed at yoursite.com/llms.txt that gives AI assistants and AI search engines a curated, high-level map of your site: what you do, your most important pages and how to reach you. Think of it as the AI-era companion to robots.txt and sitemap.xml.

Does llms.txt replace my sitemap or robots.txt?

No. Your sitemap tells search engines every crawlable URL; robots.txt sets crawl rules. llms.txt is different — it's a short, human-curated summary aimed at language models, which don't crawl exhaustively but do read context. You need all three, each doing its own job.

Where do I upload the generated file?

Place the file at the root of your domain so it's reachable at yoursite.com/llms.txt — exactly where robots.txt and sitemap.xml live. If you can't upload to the root directly, ask your developer or hosting platform to serve it from there.

Will llms.txt improve my visibility in ChatGPT or AI search?

llms.txt helps AI systems understand and cite your site faster, and it's a best practice as the ecosystem evolves. But it is not a ranking switch: being recommended by AI still depends mainly on your content quality, mentions across the web and topical authority. Treat llms.txt as one layer of an AEO strategy, not the whole strategy.

What is the difference between llms.txt and llms-full.txt?

llms.txt is the short, curated index — headline, summary and links to your best pages. llms-full.txt is the extended version that concatenates the actual content of those pages. This tool builds the standard llms.txt, which is the right starting point for most sites.

Beyond the tool
